Shooting the Blues in Manchester

I’ve been working with Manchester based blues/rock band Turrentine Jones for almost a year now and they just keep getting better and better. If you haven’t had the chance to hear them yet check out their last single on the Soundcloud player below.

I met up with the band in Manchester’s Northern Quarter to put together some fresh promo photography before they head back into the studio to record their next single.  We started off at Common on Edge Street for a couple of group shots.

Just across the road I spotted some great wrought iron gates which I just had to use as a background.

Then we headed around the corner to Odd bar who were kind enough to let us do some shots in their upstairs bar.  I loved shooting in there because the wallpaper and furniture lends itself really well to the vintage look.

Then it was a wander around the back streets for some more outdoor shots including this one using a mural from local artist Tank Petrol as the backdrop.

All in all the shoot only took a couple of hours and we made some great images to promote the band.  There are more images from the shoot available in my archive.

If you’re interested in doing a promo shoot with me drop me a line or call me on 07973 240188 to discuss your ideas and see what I can do to help.
